The Personal Side . . . . .

When not hard at work in the lab, I live in Miami with my wife, Rebecca.  We have settled down in our old age.
We left behind punk rock in favor of Jazz, and have taken up more serene pursuits - gardening, collecting orchids, and landscaping with Florida native plants to attract birds, butterflies, and other wildlife.  We also take advantage of the fact that we live 30 minutes away from the Everglades, Biscayne Bay, and the Florida Keys.  A few photos tell the story best.

Also of note is a rather strange Internet tale.  Back in 1996, we fried a turkey for Thanksgiving.  This was way before it was hip to fry turkeys - back when it was a dangerous sub-culture thing to do.  I put together a mildly satirical web page documenting the event (and similar events in following years).   Oddly enough, this little web page has gotten more attention than the entirety of the research I have conducted over the past 15 years.  It has logged almost 100,000 hits.  Go figure.  The fried turkey page has been mentioned in the Wall Street Journal (front page no less), the Los Angeles Times, and several other newspapers.  Please entertain yourself by checking out my Fried Turkey Home Page, because apparently nothing else I do is newsworthy. . .
